A Word for 2009

In 2009 you will hear them whine.

As we move into a season like we read in Matthew 25:1-10, many have been sitting around watching but not preparing and find themselves lacking.  They will come to those who have, expecting them to give them what they wouldn't receive when they had the chance.  You will hear a lot about helping out those who didn't do what they should have done.  You will see an increase in natural storms and economic storms.

We were told to take what we had in 2008 and not what we didn't have and put it to work.  We were told that fear would grip many in matters of economics, but those who moved in faith and patience would reap great benefits.  Definitely, who we listened to in 2008 has a lot to do with where we find ourselves today, both materially and spiritually.  It was not a time to draw back, but a time to press in.

Challenges came and challenges went.  Some heeded and others retreated.  Did we not see busyness take the place of business?  God wanted a listening ear, instead he got a 'dull of hearing.'  He brought us a positive word in 2008 and those who heeded ended on a positive note.  Now we face new challenges.  More blessings bring greater commitment and will bring with it the challenge to take on more responsibilities.  We moved in our ability and God met us with His possibilities.

Once again, God will sound His alarm to raise faith in the hearts of His people.  Some didn't see the falling away in the churches because they were a part of it.  He did say that in the last day there would be a falling away.  Everyone had their idea of what that meant.  The Lord was talking about a falling away from the faith.  The faith that Abraham had that was imputed unto him as righteousness.  It is the same faith that the Church should be operating in. The church will have opportunity to hear clearly what the Spirit is saying in spite of all the noise and distractions around it.  A call to come back to the faith is going out across the land. It worked before and it will work again.  He's the same God we started out with.

The Church is standing on the threshold of a great visitation of the Spirit of the Lord.  The Spirit of the bridegroom is ascending upon the church.  A time of repenting, refreshing, and restoration to whosoever will is being ushered in.  Come back to the throne of grace for a time of refreshing and restoration.  He will restore, replenish and allow you to take back what the enemy has stolen from you.  Don't look outward but look within.  Many got caught looking outward in 2008 and forgot to change within.  Now you have another chance to do it God's way.  For some it is 180 degrees in the opposite direction they are going in.  Drastic measures will have to be taken in order to free yourselves up and break free.  Hard?  Yes, but possible.  Change on the inside will bring change on the outside.

To break free from financial bondage and bring back spiritual freedom to the churches you will have to first, stop the bleeding.  That is, stop spending what you don't have.  Protect the wound.  At all cost, use wisdom on how to use what you have.  Then you will have to treat for shock.  Minister to those who think they have to keep living the way they are and spending themselves deeper into financial bondage.  Some will not want to give up their ways and take on the challenges to move into God's economic system.  It might hurt the flesh a little now, but you will reap if faint not.  I Peter 3:17 ' "For it is better, if the will of God be done, that you suffer for well-doing, than for evildoing."

There will be more unrest in the world but more stability in God's kingdom.  It will be a time like when the Master in Matthew 25:14-30 issued out the talents to everyone according to their ability to handle certain amounts.  He will be testing our willingness to go the extra mile in His kingdom.  Those who pass the test will increase greatly, both materially and spiritually.

The Church will take on a new face.  Some things will be unfamiliar and uncomfortable.  It's time for the Church to quit following every voice that comes along and tune in to what the Spirit is saying.  The enemy knows how to drag the Church off the course the Lord has for them.  Most of the time  it is by dangling something in front of them that appeals to the flesh and drowns out the Spirit.  But, it is not too late to get back on course.  Tune in more to the Word of God instead of the word of man.

The Word of God never fails and those who walk with God always get to their destination.  Press in, press on and take back what has been given to us.  May the peace of God dwell richly in you and the grace of God be shed upon you.  God's church will grow in 2009.
